Have some questions about Mayflies.
In Eastern/Central, WA which months does the hatch take place and how long does it last? Do they hatch based on a specific water or air temperature? What is the best way to get fish that are feeding on the Mayfly for river and lake locations?

Re: Mayfly
Mayflies emerge from March to October/November depending on the species. Are you interested in one specific type?
Re: Mayfly
Interested in the ones that hatch around the month of May, I thought that is why they were called "Mayflies."

Re: Mayfly
Better watch out for June Bugs as they are found in more months than just June.
The mayfly you are interested in is the calibaetis mayfly. They start emerging as early as April and as late as (from my observations) the end of September. There's usually 3 different lifecycles during the year. The first since it overwinters is the largest and a size 12-14, the next in mid summer is a #14-16 and the final, in the fall, is a #16-18.
The hatches can be as short as 15 minutes or as long as 3-4 hours.
