OK, maybe I will comprimize my initial comment that I would not support this tourney. I don't think many fish will be caught. I wonder how many people will enter. With a $1000 first prize and decent money involved. I just might be convinced to play along.

Anglers may fish with any legal method. No spearing, bow-and-arrow, or snagging allowed. Does this mean Gillnets are a go? There's still plenty of time to get one off ebay. Here's a link.

I wonder if you get bonus points if you keep the fish alive until you get to the weigh in, then let them take pleasure in watching you smash it in the head with a bat.
