Yeah, this thread is great. I love the suspense.
GPC, If I was you I would go back to lake WA. Just try fishing for something else and you should catch a squaw... Should be alot easier then catching a carp around here...

I can't tell you how much fun this has been for me. I am just getting back into fishing and went on a good catch streak before the contest started. Been pretty slow ever since. My work schedule is very open for fishing, but either I am running Daddy-Daycare with my two little boys, keeping way to busy with other things or my wife has found a new way to give me tasks and disguise them up as my own ideas for her entertainment. I must say that the suspense is killing me, but I have learned a few things while in the contest:

1. Long Lake has a private TUG servcice... and big fish
2. Childbirth = good luck on the lake! Thumb PM me with "How to get Permission" instructions.
3. Green lake has carp, you must be bi-lingual to find out where though.
4. The WL community is full of character and characters! Good times

Someone catch a 5th, I want to see that plaque!!!

I'm going back to Daddy-Daycare now I think I hear a child screaming...

The plaque's done!!! I'm just waiting to burn (literally) someone's name on it. I'll post some pictures of it tonight to motivate (or discourage) the group to catch #5 for cryin out loud.

As good or bad as it might be, at minimum it won't be as discouraging as I would make it. My art abilities (what art abilities?) went down the drain when I was four years old.

Here's a sneak peak of what you are all fighting for! Now get out there and catch #5

The winner's name will be burned underneath the O-Tay sign.

That is so great! I am sorry that I was chasing salmon instead of carp.
Look for Wannafish A Lure on FaceBook
He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.

Nice job!!:salut: Whatever they're paying you... double it! :money:

That's it, I'm going to buy more corn. The sad thing is, I've never caught a carp or a catfish before. Well, I caught some catfish in Louisana when I was a little kid, but that doesn't count.

Are you looking at something like this for a winter project? Hope so.

What's the final tally after this weekend?
Thanks cavdad45, I appreciate the props. I am looking into doing something for the winter. Right now I am just in search of some more sponsors to give prizes for the next event. We shall see. My hope is that with the exposure that this one has been getting, no one will want to say no. I want bigger and better prizes to give out and to get more and more people excited about participating. Other than that, with the response of this contest I'm sure the next one will be amazing as well. Stay tuned.

For now, back to the action.

that is so cool. Too bad employees of WL.com can't participate. Not that I'd stand much of a chance against all you first-class anglers. :-({|=

I doubt that anyone is interested in what I have to say about carp fishing, But I have caught a 7lb carp before out of the Columbia off bank using a Chartruese Spinnerbait with a white creature plastic. What I did is cast as far and deep out as I could and let the lure drag on the bottom imitating a jig and just let is sit and then drag over and over. I was trying for Smallies at the time, but when I hooked into the Carp I was like WHOA this is a Monster Bass. It seriously almost stripped my 10lb test in about 20 seconds, but I gave it the old Pumping method which wore the beast down and allowed me time to real her in. People Sturgeon fishing right beside me jumped up and ran over to me as soon as I got a hook up and were like "NO WAY!! YOU HAVE 1 ALREADY!" lol they thought I was Sturgeon fishing HA. But It was interesting how the carp took the soft plastic.

Very nice Plaque by the way Bassackwards! You have all the equiptment at home? Surface planers and routers?
If in doubt set the hook!
