RE:Members Only Curlew Tournament
Thanks for starting this post Doug.....I'm a little behind these days.
I have talked with several members over the past few days and it's looking like a good turn out again this year. I know it's a long drive for us on the westside, but once there it's truly worth the trip. As Doug stated above, this will again be a 24hr Tournament starting @ 7pm on Friday (16 Sept). You can come on and off the water you see fit to eat, rest, etc.
As most of you know, Tounament HQ will be set up at Fisherman's Cove Resort. I spoke with Sandy a few days ago and there are still rooms (cabins) left for those who have yet to make your reservation. If you need any other info please contact Doug or myself.
Weekend Timeline:
16 Sept (Fri), Arrival / Check-In
5:00pm- Registration open ($10 per person) / ($10 Optional Big Fish Side Pot)
6:30pm- Tournament Meeting (rule review)
7:00pm- Start time
17 Sept (Sat)
Tournament runs until 7pm…..All boats and participants must check in no later than 7pm.
Catch cards turned in by 7:15pm
Awards presentations
Socializing around the fire, "the one that got away time"
18 Sept (Sun) Depart

RE:Members Only Curlew Tournament
Good Luck to everyone from both Chapter 57 and Chapter 60!
Should be a lot of fun, as usual.
And hopefully someone will catch up with CLEM, the big mystery fish the locals talk about.

Tiger Muskies are sterile.
You can't keep them under 50 inches:
Let them do their job: Eating N.P.Minnows

RE:Members Only Curlew Tournament
I think I saw "Clem" one time she/he was easily over 50 inches at that time! Easily the largest Tiger I have seen in this State since fishing for Tigers... quite a thrill I must say! Good luck to all this weekend. Curlew is a beautiful lake indeed...

RE:Members Only Curlew Tournament
Even though they both hold some great tigers, Curlew is the antithesis of Tapps; quiet, remote, with rustic luxury. A departure from cell phones, TV and anything electronic except your fishfinders. ah...nirvana.
The quaint resorts are reminiscent of the old time Wisconsin Fish Camps of yore, complete with the most hospitible managers.
Reminds me of Black Bear Lodge on the Chip.
And the best sounds of nightlife? .... the loons and the creeky old wooden floors in the 1940 style cabins. Heaven.
Except for the occassional clap of thunder :shaking2:
If you haven't been before, give it a go - it is worth the trip!

RE:Members Only Curlew Tournament
Theres one that I patterned up there that was a hog. It would always snorkel in front of Tiffanys at dusk and just DWARFED the other fish that snorkeled with it. I ended up catching the smaller fish and estimated him at 36"+. Theres some hogs in that lake, go get em!KUP wrote:Good Luck to everyone from both Chapter 57 and Chapter 60!
