i've never had a problem in new york, the rules are much clearer though, and a bit less complex. although if you spend the time learning the regs they're not that hard to understand here ether. i think carrying the sportsfish rules and regs pamphlet on you when your on the water, is a good way to keep confusion under control. if in doubt just pull em out, and take a look.Stacie Kelsey wrote:tnj8222 wrote:Only in washington lol
Actually I have yet to find anyone from any state that is happy with their state hunting/fishing regs.

What you guys have to realize is that the other states with the exception of Oregon do not have complex listed species like we do.
I don't disagree that the pamphlet is confusing. I find it that way in many instances too. However, to play devil's advocate, we have some very intense fisheries in this state. And in defense of all the bio's working the regs each year, they try to refine it to make it much less confusing.
But salmon fisheries are a bit of an issue when you have listed stocks you are dealing with.
My suggestion would be submit rule changes during the major rules cycle. This includes ones you feel should be more clear.

This thread gets more interesting with each entry. We went from fishing illegal to the Rules to the state,to other states and now a fight. Hmmmmmmmmmmm Something is fishy.
When youre up to your rear end in alligators, its hard to remember that the initial plan was to drain the swamp.
