Never tried that or heard of it, I will give it a shot. I don't backlash bad enough that I am picking at it for very long that often, but once in a while I get a gnarly one.... like when you accidentally hook something behind you those are the WORST lol.

I've never hooked my buddies, but I have hooked bushes and my bimini top before, lol.

I've hooked my electric motor, seat, boat, other rods, my hat, hit but didn't hook the frontseater once, in HIS short 16 foot boat. Some day this spring I'll even hook a fish. :nemo:

I can say I've been the recipient of a foul hooking. The old here, hold the rod while I get the hook out. No the hook is already set! Stop yanking it! Stop YAn.. Oh $#!t it's half way through my thumb! I have the video of the removal but it's not for general audiences........ Oh yeah this was at blue dot so no run to the hospital.

DoubleR- Thanks for posting the video link, I've seen it before and I'm sure it will help others-"it works"
Backlashes costs you time on the water and missed fish,

Thanks for the video. Hopefully I'll remember the tip the next time I backlash - doesn't happen to often for me except when I start to get tired or when I'm tossing tooo blasted hard at the start of my day :-"
