Photo Of Apache Bow To Be Given Away At 2011 Sportsman's Show

For those of you who haven’t seen it yet, Columbia River Archery is giving away an Apache Shortbow at the 2011 Sportsman’s Show. Here it is:

Apache Bow

As we have said before, this bow is patterned after an actual Apache bow made over 100 years ago. A true shortbow (only 53” long), this design served these Native Americans well in both combat and hunting. Because of its short length, it was very easy to handle in heavy brush or timber.

This particular bow has a draw weight of 50# - 55#, with a draw length of 25”. It is not designed to be drawn at a full 28”; however, just because this is a shortbow, and a prototype as well, doesn’t mean it can’t shoot. It’s ready to take out to the range, especially since we’ve included an artificial sinew bowstring. (artificial sinew looks like real sinew, but is more durable)

Some lucky person is going to win this bow at the Sportsman’s Show! Good luck to all!!!
