Boating Certification

Post by spokanebassman » Sun Oct 17, 2010 8:06 pm

I know that now in Washington we have to be certified to operate a boat and it is a sliding scale based on age. I will be up next year and want to know if anyone has the website you can do the course and take the test?

Thanks,

I was able to get the boating manual, the Course Book and the test for FREE.

Go Here: https://fortress.wa.gov/prt/printwa/wsprt/default.asp

Create an account.
Select "Shop by Agency"

Scroll down and select "Washington State Parks and Recreation Boating Program"

Then select: "Adventures in WA Boating Home Study Coursebook"

Then "Adventures in Boating WA-Home Study Course w/exam"

Add To Cart.. then check out.

OR you can get the entire PDF version here: http://www.boat-ed.com/wa/wa_specific_i ... entire.pdf

Is this for all boats? I have a 9.8hp Merc on a 12' alum & trolling motor. Thought it was for 10hp & up but don't want to be rollin dirty so thought i would ask.

Im passed that age that needs the certification. Finally getting older has some advantages.
When youre up to your rear end in alligators, its hard to remember that the initial plan was to drain the swamp.
