Can't wait! Hope the local interest is growing. Can non-members be in the boat?

Shoot Doug, I kind of overlooked that myself. I was thinking it was open, so I invited a non member. Guess that will be a good reason for him to join now! I am pretty sure it is a members only event. Not sure on the specifics of the rules. I will check and get back here to post....

I checked the Chapter 57 Web site for the rules. There is nothing in the Members Only Tournament rules (found here: http://www.nwtigermuskies.com/files/c57 ... trules.pdf) that say non-members can't be in the boat. However, it does say that only M.I. members can participate. We would have to ask the tournament committee to get a decision on this, as I feel it is ultimately up to them. My gut feeling is that only members should be in the boats, but that has to be their decision. Maybe someone from Chapter 57 can weigh in here and give us some guidance.

You are right on, Doug; only Muskies, Inc. members can participate and that includes being in the boat etc... the reason being for M.I. insurance purposes. If one should want to fish this event, or any "members" event, it is only $35.00 a year to join, or $47.50 for the entire family (spouse and any children under 18 years of age). You can join anytime...even up to the day event itself!

The WDFW Permit states it is for "Members Only", so that is how it has to stand. But that can be changed for any CH 60 Permits for pike/tigers next year. O.K., now get out there and have some fun!

The tournament will be out of the Cusick boat launch registration will be at 6:45a.m with a meeting of the rules after that. The tournament will run from 7:30am-4pm. Hope to see everyone there. Craig

I agree, $10 entry per person and let them put as many in the boats with whatever is good for them, within legal/safe limits. I will need to bring my 6 year old (member as well), so that will help out with me....

So registration time on Oct 23rd will be 6:45am and the start of the tournament will be 7:30 am.....till 4:00pm. Let me know if anyone has a problem with this half hour change please, atleast its later and not earlier LOL...

Doug, nice picture on the cover of our national mag. chapter 60 really hit the ground running this year! Chapter 57 wants to thank all of you for putting this tourney on. I'll be there with our new member Nate to tease the Pike and rub elbows with the eastsiders. As we are realizing more and more Pike are here to stay in Washington and promotion of the POR fishery and its future impact is importent. On going studies and research of the Pike requires active involvement by clubs and fisherman to compliment the work of WDFG and the Kalispel Tribe. Tiger Muskie and the Pike are ESOX brothers as you know without the Pike we would have no Tigers. So it only makes sense to be involved with the management of both. New members are the life blood of organization and with that comes new ideas and fresh thinking to build on what the established members have thankfully founded.
