Tom you forgot to mention topwater.

Sorry. Image

You just might want to try topwater, but I really don't know why. Image

I also heard of something called 'buzzbait'. Wonder what that could be? Image Maybe a 'high speed angleworm.' Image

Based on the fact that my best hauls for crayfish on Lake Washington come from an overnight soak, I would have a good creature bait loaded up with crayfish scent at the ready. "They mostly come out at night...mostly."

ummm....yeah, but hopefully the bass won't stick themselves to your face and implant eggs in your chest. lol.

This might be the beginning of a new "B" horror movie.

I am still a novice at night fishing, but I have been doing more of it over the last year or two. Don't limit yourself to just topwater or you'll be missing out.

something big and dark to stand out against the moon. sometimes weightless plastics work well, spinnerbait with a big colorado, and of coarse anything topwater. i always like to have at least one rod set up with a big weightless dead ringer

Ha! Its true, the night bite is just like the day bite. NOTHING,Bass are mythical creatures that only exist
in the mind of the crazy. Your more likely to catch sasquatch on a buzzbait with a $100 bill attached to the trailer hook.
I know,I've been blessed twice using this method.

Give 'em hell BB. I know very little on the night bite but I figure they still have to be hungry and it would be hard to pass
up a tasty meal. Thats my own backwater bass theory. I can count to purple too:clown:

Chris hit the nail on the head. Don't limit yourself. Cranks, jigs with bulky trailers, big worms, traps, creature baits, big weightless plastics like kramerica mentioned, spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, etc. can all be effective. Topwater is arguably the most exciting way to catch them at night, but only certain nights will offer prime topwater fishing (just like during the day).

Night fishing can offer similar challenges to daytime fishing. But when you dial the bass in at night, you can absolutely rope them.
