Hey Rosann & Bill,
Yeah they are very happy and overall we are very happy too!! It will definitely be bittersweet for us as we will miss all of our friends, but don't shed too many tears!! I am only a days drive from New Mexico and their 22 per acre tiger muskie fishery. I heard the pike fishing is not too bad either with a pike of 53.25" and 45.5 lbs caught in the last 4 years or so in colorado!!

You can catch a few for me when you go Buddy, good luck.
Too much water, so many fish, too little time.

Catch alot of Pike and Muskie for us(Chapter 60) too lucius. Cant believe that guy ate that fish 2 meals of old yucky tough fish, Especially with all the realistic mounts we have today no reason to kill her. I guess it would be a hard call for anyone wether to release her or take the record. Catch and release everyone let those trophys grow even bigger.

Will do Craig and I couldn't agree with you more about the replica mounts and releasing the big girls. On avg. 750,000 potential pike removed from the lake with just that one fish taken and potentially up to 1,000,000 depending on the fish. Not to mention the desired genetics that she would pass on. To each their own I guess.

Although, this puts Idaho in a class that only 2 other states in the Country are in. The 40lb pike state record class. Minnesota with a 45 lb 12 ounce monster from the boundary water and the national record of 46lbs 2 oz from lake Sacandaga in New York back in 1942 I think.

Idaho congratulations on the induction into the 40lb club.

Wrong person, but I do have a few Tigers around the area with hook scars from me. LOL I just don't fish tourney's anymore and working out of town all the time makes clubs tough.

Check out Spinny Mountain and see how the size is now; when I left in 87 they were just getting good. Elevenmile was good, but slow. Still, got a few 20+ in there in the mid 80s to work over the baits.

John Martin was a sleeper when I left in 87, the brush is/was heavy, the water warmer then normal pike water, but some real hogs use to swim in those waters.
Too much water, so many fish, too little time.

Holly smokes, for some reason I read your name as proanglersdaughter. My bad. Yeah, elevenmile and spinney seem to be decent producers. I know one of the guides caught and released a pike that exceed the existing state record this past may, but they released it...good thing. Martin still seems to produce some good ones too, but it sounds like it is getting a lot of recreational traffic. Probably the best pike water in Colorado right now is stagecoach. Continues to produce pike in the 48" range every year with a 53.25" 45.5 pound monster caught back in July of 2006. Unfortunately for me it is a 4 hour drive for me. I will make a few trips every year for sure. How long did you live in colorado for?
