RE:Whos familiar with Waughop ???
I've fished there and seen the signs about RC boats, but never seen the actual boats when I have fished there.
RE:Whos familiar with Waughop ???
I have never caught anything there. I once got a bite on a yum dinger, but that was it. Yeah those RC boats are very annoying. I did see one guy catch a 4 pounder fishing with a 3 inch senko.

Is this lake not ran and monitored by WDFW. Or does the city own the lake. The city has to own and maintain it or my fishing license fees are being wasted on rc boats at a lake managed by WDFW. No offense to the rc guys

RE:Whos familiar with Waughop ???
It sounds like they are going to close access to Waughop. I read an article about how they have been trying to control the toxic algae for years with no success. So I doubt that this lake will get stocked any more, and I'm pretty sure that the plan is to close access to the water in the near future. Waughop was made by the Western State patients about 100 years ago, it has no in or out flow, so it is essentially a puddle that keeps getting more toxic. There are some nice lmb in there, and stocker trout, but shore access is pretty tough in most spots, so it would be a prime candidate for a float tube (if you dont mind the toxic algae).

Yeah i just gave up on waughop, too challenging, too frustrating, too many lures lost, so much anger. Iv spent so much time at that lake, the only thing i ever got was one bite.
