I don`t steel head but a couple friends of mine do. I live in Enumclaw and also grew up on the green. There is a spot up the head works road on the left just before the gate that has always produced. There is a rock cliff you stand on and cast right in front of them sitting in the pool I`ve seen some monsrers puller out of there but get there early cuz there is only enough room for a couple three guy`s. Also the 169 bridge there is a trail under it. Walk down the river a half mile there is a cave on the right and a great spot that very few know about till now I guess. Try to pack out some garbage if there is any I swim there with the kids in the summer and the younger crowed that floats tend to park there rafts at the cave and drink leaving there garbage behind. Good luck

i've been up to the green 5 or 6 times now and struck out bad every time. Mainly fishing flaming geyser down to carbody, and haven't even seen a fish. Talked to the fella's at soos creek hatchery and they said there's been a good bit of pressure from the nets on the fish. Let us know if ya find better news than me. I'm goin back saturday to fish tween the 2 golf courses to find fish.
Fishing relaxes me. It's like yoga, except i still get to kill something.

Seems like the lower half always get`s all the pressure. Not a hole lot of people venture up into this neck of the woods. I`ve never seen anyone fish the lower part I was talking about for steelies and there are some monsters in there.

Try nightcrawlers. We used to fish nightcrawlers and crayfish meat for summer run.My big fish was caught on a nightcrawler at Flaming Geyser under the old bridge.

When youre up to your rear end in alligators, its hard to remember that the initial plan was to drain the swamp.

so started hitting the holes up at headworks thismorning, no luck there, but i didnt stay in that area very long, bout a hour, and i ran into a nether guy who said he put in a hour or so and struck out to, so i went down to kanaskat palmer state park and fished every hole down to the big rock in the back, i landed a few nice trout biggest was abou 15", in that last hole there, but had an itch to get back down to icy creek area, so i went there and hiked as far as i could up streem and worked my way down, hooked a few nice trout, some real fighters, any way lost about 8 leaders and decided to call it quits, it was raining on me and my waders sprung a leek, so as i was headin out i did run into one guy that said his buddy who was fishing down streem a few hundred yards got a 8lb steelhead, but it sounded a little iffy, any way al and all today kinda sucked for fishing on the green but wasnt all bad

Be happy you were catching something..........I have came out of the green bruised, bloody, soaked to the bone and a chipped bone in my elbow and still have a great day. I didn't even catch a trout over 10".

For me it is about fishing the waters and catching fish is just and added perk. I go to fish and enjoy my time out in nature, it is my time away from all the troubles and worries in the world.

Wow steel sounds like it`s tuff. I figured for sure you would get one up that way. Try the other spot I mentioned. If nothing`s going on there I`d say there gone. I`ve seen both those spot`s produce year after year. Sad to hear it`s as bad as it is. Sounds like the other river`s aren`t producing that much either.

I thought I was the only guy to injure, mame and break bones in his body to fish for the good time and not catch. Wooo. I dont feel so alone anymore. Hahaha

I am sure there are others...If I went fishing just to catch fish I wouldn't enjoy it due to getting skunked at times.
