hooks for kokanee
What style hooks do you all prefer for your kokanee leaders?
Regular octopus or the drop shot
Also what sizes do you run?

I use the drop shot/split shot hooks in size 1.. I have had a lot better hookups since.

That is what The "Kid" told me to get and use. I didn't see any difference in the boat ratio than the one that K_slayer gave me which wasn't the drop shot.dbfield wrote:I use the drop shot/split shot hooks in size 1.. I have had a lot better hookups since.
But I am new to targeting them. I can only use Sunday as my reference point.

Look for Wannafish A Lure on FaceBook
He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.

Fair enough. I have always used the drop shot hooks. I have had good success on these so that is why I am using them still. I am sure any good hook will be just fine!

I run either 2 gama egg hooks, sz 6 up front sz 8 in the rear or a sz 8 treble hook. If I am running the bait harness I will use either a worm and corn together or run CORN ONLY 2 pieces on each hook, the separation between the hooks provides a very good action to the corn, and I have caught tons of fish like this. For the treble I will run 1 piece of corn on each hook, or 2 corns and 1 gulp maggot, real maggot, or tiny chunk of worm.

I go with stout octopus hooks in a number 6 size. They have such soft mouths, a thin hook is more likely to tear out. Also, I always tie 2 hooks in tandem, this results in fewer lost fish for me. If the fish are small, consistently under 12", I run a rubber snubber in front of my dodger, sling blade, flashlites, etc. which helps a bunch especially as I use braided lines on my downrigger rods.

I use the drop shot hooks in size 1 or 2. Just got to keep the hooks tied to the leader#

Matt have you ever thought about quiting your day job and becoming a guide of some sort:money: . I learn more from your postings than I do on the water. I don`t fish for half of the species you post about but I still learn from them.
