WHO is that CUTE guy on page 87??
Nice fish, Kenster, you are the man with Mayfield fish!
Going to be the best Tournament this year; really looking forward to it,
PLUS: Since this ad was produced for us (Thanks Brian Lull!) we have added a new sponsor deal:
LAX REPRODUCTION will DONATE a fiberglass mount to the angler who catches the biggest fish, 50 inches or over.
That's about a $700 mount, plus $300 from Auburn Sports , plus probably 1st place money from the Tournament;
BIG MONEY :money: this year, woo hoo!
LAX Reproduction has always been a BIG supporter of Muskies, Inc. Chapters http://www.laxreproduction.com

Tiger Muskies are sterile.
You can't keep them under 50 inches:

Thanks, Dex. NW Sportsman went to press b4 you were done with your fantastic flyer; it is a BEAUT!
And we all have our President, Lucius, to thank for the LAX deal. He hit one out of the park with that!
And maybe it helped that bad esox helped Rick Lax carry about 40 LAX mounts in and out of the Minnesota Muskie Expo last month, too! Gotta love the team effort;
we rock.

I would have to agree bad esox helped our chances. I am sure that the few of our members that also had reproductions of their trophy mounts from him also helped.KUP wrote:Thanks, Dex. NW Sportsman went to press b4 you were done with your fantastic flyer]
If only 1 person were to catch a 50" tiger that is almost $1000 in prizes not to mention the tournament cash you would probably win.

RE:check out the new June issue of NW Sportsman Magazine!!
We have never had an event where the boat slots were completely full. In years past we have had upwards of 20 boats or so. this year with the 2 big prizes, I would anticipate more. The permit is for 35 boats, so there should be plenty of room for everybody. I will let everybody know if that starts to changedougw wrote:Sounds like Mayfield is one great competition! Yes, do bring her! We have several women anglers in the club and even if your son fishes instead, there is always lots to do in Mossyrock and Morton. .

Can you imagine how long that 50"+ muskie I intend on catching is going to drag my canoe around?
By then I will have a boat here. Coming back with me from vacation.

Wow, I'm impressed. You picked that muskie up into a canoe and didn't tip over. I've always been a little, no alot, scared of going out in a canoe let alone fishing for muskie from one. What kind of boat are you bringing back with you from vacation?

Nothing fancy by any stretch!
Specs:
1) 15' Wood hull hand made.
2) It floats
3) 35 pound thrust Minnkota
4) It floats
5) 9.9 HP Evinrude? (borrowed motor from a friend, which I still need to pick up.)
6) It floats!
7) Old Hummingbird LCR2000 (yes, it still works)
Okay, I think I established that it floats! This is the boat that I grew up fishing in. I was either in that, or in the redwood canoe as a kid. The boat holds a lot of sentimental value, so I plan on polishing the old girl up a bit. It's actually an attractive creation, albeit probably 60+ years old. Been taken care of relatively well till that last few years. Needs a lot of TLC at this point. As I said though, it holds a lot of sentimental value.

We want to see pictures. It sounds like a sweet boat and the memories make it extra special.

I am planning to restore the boat as best I can, so I will post before and after pictures. I remember it being a very beautiful boat when I was a kid.
My vacation is next week, and I will be towing it back from Wisconsin with me, so it will be a few weeks yet for pictures.

Exciting stuff!?? Where in Wisconsin? (Got extra room for a stow-away?) LOL
Looking forward to Mayfield this year. It's sure to be a dandy of a tournament challenge. You're right, Kenster--Mayfield has produced many firsts for Tigers! I'm long overdue, I know that!
Have a great weekend everyone!

Spring Valley. Just east of Minneapolis about 45 minutes. I'm gonna get lucky enough to fish at least one day while I am back there, probably Polk county (old stomping grounds).

If you happen to land one, definitely post the pictures here as well as the report. I know we are definitely looking forward to it.dougw wrote:Spring Valley. Sent an email off to a buddy back there that works in fisheries for the DNR. He will let me know where the current hot spots are before I get there, so I can make a good plan of attack! Thank Goodness for friends in the right places!
I am so excited to hit the lakes tomorrow morning, I doubt I will sleep tonight. May as well be on the lake night fishing! Gonna hit Newman, then Spirit, and possibly Hauser tomorrow pending how hot any one of the three are.
