These people were there and video taped. Derby is on part 2.

They are loads of fun. This would be a neat derby to participate in.

It is an aeration system. What you need to watch out for is the shore power that comes in from the north side. It isn't on the bottom and you'll hook it with your gear if you are fishing 30' to 40' down.

I think there may be areas of that line that are shallower than that, too. I snagged up between the power warning buoy and the shore about 2 months ago. I usually choose not to troll through that area, but see others doing it all the time.

That must have been what was going on about noon. Looked like two boats had snagged each other or possibly the line. One boat was nosed up to the bouyes and the other was pointed towards shore and you could see a line between them glistening, outstreached between the boats. I lost track of what they were doing when a guy in a tan/brown boat almost ran into us.

I have never seen an airation system in a lake this size before. Mostly only in ponds.

We enjoyed the day and are looking forward to our next trip up to Stevens.

I second what RSEAS said in his report about the people there. They were very helpfull and it was nice to have a guy on the dock help staging the boats that were launching and recovering. This was a well organized event with lots of helpfull and friendly people.

Can't agree more about the people! I thought launching was going to make me want to jump in the lake in frustration but everything actually went off without a hitch both loading and unloading. Even WITH both of my dogs in tow :) We enjoyed ourselves and are glad everyone used their heads loading and unloading their vessels.
