Schooling Bass

Post by racfish » Fri Apr 16, 2010 5:29 am

A few weeks ago I wrote in about a couple bass I saw while on my nightly walk. Last night on my walk I saw 8-10 bass swimming together in the same spot. This time there was a school of trout mingling about them. All of a sudden there were multiple splashes.I was watching the bass feeding on the trout. Now these trout were not fingerlings but pretty good sized. Also these bass are not small either.I stood there for a half hour just watching this in about 2-3 feet of water. It was interesting to see the Bass feed on the trout and the trout still swam around them almost like they were supposed too.Very fascinating to watch.I wish my pictures came out but they didnt on my cell phone camera.
When youre up to your rear end in alligators, its hard to remember that the initial plan was to drain the swamp.

Well that just go's to show ya that bass like big things to eat. If you had a 12 in worm or a swim bait 6-12 in or even a large jig there just may be a fishing report.? What you saw was a wolf pac they will swim around and feed on what ever they can. I would be out there tonight!!
Are you hung up again!

Where is that at? I was amazed at the clarity of Lake Chelan water this weekend vs other lakes on the west side. One of the few times I actually could see the bass.

for whatever reason, I always catch SMB's on small plastics, and LMB's on big hurkin' senkos.

I through a barage of goodies at the area with no luck.I did hook into a whopping 6"trout.Then we tried along the penninsulas shoreline. We then hit the docks on MI and both ends of I90. Nothing happened at all.It was a great day to be on the water.Saw others fishing and didnt see much action at all.HmmmmmMore then anything it felt great to be on the water again.Untill next weekend.
