6HP evinrude

Post by Ryan_1 » Thu Feb 18, 2010 10:24 pm

This is a 1968 6HP evinrude outboard. Don't let the year scare you though. I started it on 2-17-2010 and it started on the first pull. It runs like new and is ready to run right now. I am including a 5 gallon gas tank and a rolling engine stand for it. Please send me a message with your email if you would like to see it or would like pictures. I can run it for anyone who would like to see it also. I am asking $425 for this excellent engine.

You Know, I wouldn't feel good about buying an old engine for that much money. I think they should come with a title, for obvious reasons. That is too much money, regardless.#-o

if you guys saw this engine running you would understand how good of an engine it is. My grandfather bought it brand new in december of 1968 on a end of the year deal and itwas on his dingy up until about 7 years ago. He currently has a 8HP yamaha electric start 4 stroke that is a 2005 that has had major problems already because engine just aren't built like thay used to be. If i hadn't of sold my 12' aluminum boat, i would not be selling this engine and even now i don't want to but I have no use for it anymore.

I don't think anyone is disputing the fact that it is a good motor. I had one myself that I got from Dad. First pull starting every time. You can't by many parts for them any more and its just not worth what you want for it. $250 tops is all that I would pay personally. How much did you pay for it?:pl:

Its worth what you think it is worth but what you actualy get are two different things. My advice (not that you are asking for it.) keep it its got history in your family and if its that dependable you may need it for back up.

I think questioning somebody's price is a little tacky.
