Nice River/Stream Fly Rod

Post by Lotech Joe » Sun Mar 30, 2014 3:48 pm

I'm selling a Batson RX7, 7 1/2 foot, 4 piece, 5 weight fly rod. I built it 7 years ago with a mortised teak reel seat insert and cap & ring smoke colored hardware. It has a western cork grip with a very nice patina. The winding check matches the reel seat hardware. It also has a 10mm green agate stripping guide with chrome double foot guides and tip top. The wraps are kelly green with no tipping or color preserver. I made the rod sock myself and it includes a cordura covered tube. The blank it gloss green and is no longer available. I have fished this rod maybe a half dozen times and it casts very well. I Christened it on the Locksa River at the Idaho Fish-In with a Native Westslope Cutthroat and and whiskey. I've always enjoyed this rod the few times I've been able to fish it. Seven years ago the component parts cost over $160 but now would cost over $250 if you could find the blank. I would keep the rod but my wading days are over and I just don't fish it any more. I'm asking $150 + shipping and insurance to the continental U.S. The reel and fly line are NOT included.
