Annual Sturgeon Kayak fishing event, Willamette River, this weekend.

I just got back from a sort of Kayak flash mob Sturgeon fishing event on the Willamette River, in Portland.

Just had to say this is one super fun thing to get into, and I only caught one sturgeon actually. But many people caught MULTIPLE.

I got such a crack-up out of this one Australian guy..
I was all bent over tying hooks or something, I hear something said, then this dude rolls up in a kayak, and says something like, “Eh, mate.. you want a hot dog?” Total Aussie accent, anyways..
I’m thinking, I brought 5 kinds of bait and the guy wants me to use a hot dog??

Then I look up, and he slides by in his kayak, with a freakin’ Weber grill on an outrigger setup. He’s grillin’ dogs on the water and handing to anglers!
Now that’s camaraderie!

I've cooked dogs and burgers on my buddy's bass boat a few times but a kayak is next level haha that's awesome

Both "sturgeon kayak fishing" and "charcoal kayak grilling" sound hilarious to see! The sport of sturgeon fishing from a kayak sounds kinda like it combines water skiing and fishing skills!
