For all of your non-fishing related conversations. If it's not about fishing, or you want to "test" the forum, post it here.

hey I want to see more activity so I'm happy for ideas. I just don't know how flexible the forum software is.

Thank you everyone for all your replies. I agree with majority of your comments, and the reason I asked is because I too lament the decline of the forum.

I am pretty confident though the below is a contributing factor. Can anyone spot the problem?

are you referring to the forum link being buried in the Research drop down menu? We're meeting this weekend so this is helpful information.

Yes, I remember having a hard time finding the Forum link when I came back to the site recently!

Thats a good point wlai. The forum link location wasn't obvious on my first visit to the site when it changed. I could see how a new member could have trouble locating it.

I bookmarked the forum sign in page so that's where it opens every time I log in. Rarely ever go to the site homepage.

Mike if you guys are meeting this weekend maybe you can discuss moving "Mark forums read" from under "Search" and put under "Forum". Even though I know where it is, I still catch myself going to "Forum" when finished reading posts. [wink]

Hewes, if you check the box for ‘Stay logged in’. Then set a bookmark to the ‘Active topics’ section.. then you will be on the cutting edge of all current conversations. (-:
Without having to log in each time.

I use 'active topics' and I don't use a book mark, I use a shortcut on the desk top. LOTS less clicking that way.

And "Mark forums read", which is under 'search', and only under 'board index', should be on every page under "forums", as it's a forum thing.

I don't stay logged in anywhere if not at my computer. [wink]
