Puallup Sportsmans Show. Who's Going and for What?

Post by TrackerPro16 » Sat Jan 21, 2017 7:57 pm

Next weekend is the Puallup sportsmans show. Are you going? What are you looking for?
I will be looking at electronics. Well, everything actually, but mainly looking to see if there will be anything new.

I'm still thinking about going. I didn't go last year because the fresh water demo tank wasn't there. It not going to be there this year either, so I don't know yet. The only reason I might go is to take the depth finder class again.

My bro's and I are going probably Thursday after 5 (because we are cheap and have a coupon from someone....) just to browse and see if anyone can pry any money out of us.

I didnt see and sonar classes on the schedule. I'll have to look again.

No wonder I missed it. John Keizer is only going to be there Wed and Fri. He is the Lowrance pro staffer guy.

Well, I don't see the classes put on by Jeff Boyer, so I guess I'll be fishing instead. The weather IS going to be clear and mid to upper 40s.

I am going to work in the booth. Get a subscription for NW Sportsman. Maybe new sunglasses. Say hi to several people I know. Peek at the boats I can't afford. See Terry Rudnick and Pat Blackwell if I can.

He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.

Sounds like wishful thinking! [biggrin]

Just checked the vendor list from top to bottom. I will still go but some of the folks I was hoping were going to be there are not... Should still be fun.

I made the mistake of adding up all the costs and figuring out what it cost us per pound of shrimp, crab and salmon we caught a couple of years ago. I dont recommend doing that. You might decide to take up golf! Safeway is a MUCH better deal [woot] :D

If I can score a couple discounted Tica Kokanee ultra super duper duper lites then I'll part with some $$$.

Otherwise I'll spend my time giving away free stuff to NWFR members. :) :) :) :)

Was looking at the exhibitor and demo list and am a bit disappointed. Then I looked at the PNW Show in Portland in early February. Much more on both. Might skip ours and run down there...

If you've never been to the Portland show I would highly recommend checking it out. Figure on a full day. They have more outdoor stores, better deals, more stuff to see.

Tomorrow afternoon looks like a good time for me, the seminars seem to line up pretty well with my interests.
1:30 to 6:30, I see trout, marine electronics, salmon, kokanee, and albacore seminars back to back.

I'm also considering going to the Portland show. The Portland schedule has the warm water seminars and demo tank that used to be available at the Puyallup show. ](*,) Maybe I can justify a 300 mile round trip gas and parking cost against the no sales tax savings. :^o

Any reviews of the first couple days of the show? I'm thinking about going tomorrow with nothing in particular in mind.

Sportco booth has some good sales. The burgers are too $$$ but edible. Saw a couple of boats I want but they refused to give me a 98% discount for some reason. Same thing on the sonar with the 24" screen. What jerks. The grizzly was napping. Im glad I am so broke or I would have come home with more stuff than I could fit in the car. If I handt bought that burger I could have gotten 4 or 5 more lures. I missed the NWFR booth somehow - my feet were too sore by the time I realized we had missed it.

A lot like last year but we enjoyed it :)
