Driverless cars, what say you?

Post by Amx » Mon Jun 06, 2016 12:05 pm

My answer on a car forum;
I'm all for it. I can sleep in while it drives me and the boat to the lake, launches the boat, parks itself in the parking lot, goes fishing, weighs the fish, takes the pictures, and releases the fish. Loads the boat on the trailer, drives home, parks the truck and trailer in the garage, all done. Wakes me up to tell me how good or bad a day of fishing I had, and so I can walk into the house to take my nap. Image

I do think we have reach that status already if you look at the number of folks who are spending more time looking at their phones than paying attention to the big window in front of them. [biggrin] [biggrin]

As long as they are programmed to merge at freeway speed and not stop at the end of the on ramp waiting for an opening, I'm all for it. A bonus would be if it kept them in the right lane except when passing.

Hahaha, let 'em roll! A portion of the cars on the road right now are driverless. Just because they sit behind the wheel and make the vehicle go does not mean they're a driver.

ALL of you guys are on the exact same track, and the exact same replies, as the responders in the car forum. [laugh] [thumbup]

I am all for it, after seeing someone loose there license after driving for 50+ years you loose your freedom. This would give the older generation the freedom to go where they need to and not have to count on someone else to take them. A bonus all around for the people who can really utilize them or does not want to ask or wait for someone else to take them. We are all going to get old and face this our self so you want to wait for someone to take you hunting and fishing? Not me.......Fish on!

I hope when I grow old and can't drive I can still cast a rod and reel in a fish and shoot straight and hit my target and own a Google truck that can take me anywhere I want to go!! Maybe a Google driven BOAT? You never know.

I think I want to be on the ground floor of the "Driverless RV market!!!"
I've always wanted to go in the back, make a sandwich and watch some vids while on the road, and except for lashing the wheel and setting the cruise control while driving across Texas, have never been able to! :cheers:

Hell yah!! ROLMAO....teen sex in today's cars? No way....No like our days of old chevy trucks with bench seats and pick up beds. I don't think kids today even cruise anymore or park and BS on the water front parkway like we did years ago in Tacoma and Olympia.

Bay Wolf, RV that sounds like a plan that could work. Now put that together with Larry's idea and the options are endless. :cheers:
