Not reciently but I've built buggies and trucks, electric and nitro. On top of that airplanes, heli's and boats.

Both the boys have Traxxas Rustlers, electric. My yard just isnt big enough for them, they're pretty fast. 35+ is what they are currently set at.

I used to. Only problem is that I ran out of places to use it because of all the houses that were built in my area. Depending on what type you are getting, you will be limited to parks, back yard, or the beach; but even then some of those places mentioned have noise restrictions. I had a TMAXX, one of the first ones that came out. Its a lot of fun but can be a very expensive hobby; only bad thing is you don't get to eat a tasty catch! LOL. There are some clubs that you can join in the area as well, depending on where you are of course ($$$$) that have pretty cool tracks with jumps, races, pits, etc.

Now if you go the street racing way or the dual-sport way, you are pretty flexible to any smooth empty parking lot. Just watch out for cars, curbs, and light poles. I actually had two police officers come ask me what I was doing in the empty mall parking lot one night; once they found out I was not causing any mischief, they watched for a while, laughed, and then said to "Wrap it up in 30'". They never came back to check though, more pressing issues at hand I'm sure.

Either way, good luck, have fun, and don't chase any squirrels. PITA will come after you!

Gordon

I like to buy smaller cars and build them up. I got a 1/32 electric with brushless and lipo and man that tiny car screams, 40+ mph. Got a revo 1/16 that goes over 50. When they are that fast its tough to do anything but go straight lol.

Also got a few mini helis that are alot of fun when you learn not to crash lol.

Yea, very true statements. Cody, my youngest, breaks SOMETHING every time he takes his car out. Usually from hitting something.

Wow I didn`t realize they were so in depth and fast. I had one back when that was attached to a 5ft wire with a remote. I thought I was cool. LOL

I hate sounding too old but. My dad and I (mostly Dad) would build Balsa airplanes and hydros. We had a small fuel engine that ran on a high octane fuel. The problem was knowing how long the fuel lasts. I crashed many an airplane. My poor dad put hours upon hours building them. It only too me 10 minutes to crash them. I was like "The Barefoot Bandit " of model planes and boats.

haha ya I though about boats or airplanes but knowing me I would forget how much fuel the airplane has and crash it and forget how much fuel the boat has and have to swim out to get it haha
