Like the old song goes, "Oh Lord, It's hard to be humble".

I consider myself at 59 years old a fairly in tune guy with today's technology. I have produced videos on my computer, edited photos, and managed a website. However, this evening I was put in my place.

My son-in-law got a new iPod for Christmas. It is far more advanced than my 4 year old Nano. My grandson, Noah, wanted to show me a Thomas The Train video on his dad's iPod. He brought it over to me and a video started playing. I couldn't hear it, so I thought that I would turn up the volume by touching the screen and the video stopped and it went to a completely new window. Noah looked at me and said "Touch it!" I told him that I just did and the movie stopped. He looked at me with a perplexed look, took it from me and said "Me do it, Pop." He took the iPod out of my hand, proceeded to navigate through several pages, making selections by touching and scrolling by dragging his finger over the screen. He then politely handed the iPod back to to me. I looked at the screen and the movie wasn't playing. I asked him how to start the movie. He gave me another bewildered look and said, "It loading". Sure enough, about 6 seconds later the video started.

Noah is 3 years old![huh]

Marc,
I think we have too much junk in our heads to be as bold as a 3 year old. They have no fear. 'Course they aren't paying for mistakes either. For me, I'm stayin' Lotech. :bigsmurf:

I went back to visit my grandparents in the mid 60's one time. I walked into the den and they were watching the evening news with Chet Huntley and David Brinkley. I took a double take at the T.V. because David Brinkley was a bright green. I asked them what was wrong with their set. Grandpa replied, "It has been that way for a couple months now and I don't know what happened." I walked over to the set, turned the hue control knob and David acquired a rich tan in his face. Apparently, the cleaning lady had dusted the set and inadvertently turned the knob. Gramps replied, "Now I don't have to call the repair man."

Technology advanced very rapidly for them when the transistor was invented. They could remember when the phone lines were installed in their little farm town.

I'm starting to feel like my grandfather......:alien:

I'm old enough to remember when a '67 Corvette was just a used car.

Splitshot,, I know your age. I always think of this topic in terms of the music industry. Right now you can listen to Def Lepoard or whatever.. from 1988,, and you can think that it was just yesterday. But in 1980 you might have been listening to the Beatles,, and it seemed at that time like they were way in the past.... but honestly it was only 10 years past then.
Now...your music ears go back 30-40 years. I don't know if that makes sense or not. But when you put the life calendar up against what was being released in albums, it really messes with your head.

I'm 40 but couldn't find a way to answer on the poll. Maturity wise I feel about 25, my body feels about 50.

Hey,I remember turning the ripe age of 19. I spent a ton of cash in Vancouver B.C.,my buddies and I really boosted the
bar/liquor industry. Happy birthday curado!

Where does the time go? The last time I posted on here I was 29,I'm now an old beat down 31...I think:-k
My body is much older,I did plenty of dumb things in my youth but now my job has created more issues.
Torn cartilage in my right knee,2 major surgeries on my left shoulder and now some hearing issues out of my left ear due
to some freak explosion. Ok,I'm done whining.
I still love my job but it has taken a serious toll.

When youre up to your rear end in alligators, its hard to remember that the initial plan was to drain the swamp.

To be 33 all over again???? Not sure I'd really like to go there. Now, to be ripe as I am and just turn the clock back on my tired carcass...........

~Men and fish are alike. They both get into trouble when they open their mouths.

~My biggest worry is that my wife (when I'm dead) will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it.

Well, I turn 60 in a couple of weeks. Here is my mechanics evaluation.......

The body rattles as it goes down the road.
The headlights are much dimmer at night.
The ball joints are worn out and tends to wander from left to right.
The paint on the top has turned to a dull primer gray.
The suspension creeks and groans.
It's hard starting in the morning.
The exhaust seems to be louder and appears to be burning too rich.
And worst of all, the front end is way out of alignment.[bored]
