What's the deal? Isn't it spring? I'm tired of the snow anybody else agree! It seems as though scientists may be correct with the ice age idea. I live in tacoma and it's snowing crazy here.

Wasnt up late enough to see it start, thought it was only supposed to be rain. Got a nice coat of snow on the boat. Totally ready for some 75-80 degree days.

Snowy here in Spokane, as usual.

Remember that global warming (a poor choice of name) has little to do with elevation of periodic temperatures and specific areas. It creates more SEVERE weather, not an overall temperature increase.

No kidding! I haven't seen snow anywhere in the world like I've seen in the Spokane area the last 2 years. Snow storms that went on for days, piling up snow by the foot, not inches. Germany, Korea, Colorado.....all tropical paradise areas compared to this. It reminds me of the "lake effect" snows we used to get in northern PA and western NY when storms moved across the Great Lakes.

I've just resigned myself to the belief that all my spring fishing trips will be blustery, cold, miserable experiences...it's easier to accept!

Today in Spokane we set the all time record for snow in one winter......new record!

The National Weather Service:

Statement as of 8:17 PM PDT on March 29, 2009

... Winter 2008-2009 sets record for the snowiest on record in
Spokane...

As of 5 PM PDT... the seasonal snow total for the Spokane
international Airport was 93.6 inches. This set a record for snowiest
winter in Spokane. Snow records have been kept in Spokane since 1893.

Rank winter snow total
1. 2008-2009 93.6
2. 1949-1950 93.5
3. 2007-2008 92.6
4. 1974-1975 89.0
5. 1992-1993 87.3

The last two Winters in Spokane rank as number one and number
three on the all-time snowiest in Spokane.

** The seasonal total may climb higher since snow totals are
tabulated through the month of June.

It was insane over here. Ron Miller at the NWS (GEG) office was amazed by this winter. I will never forget it. It came in about 2-weeks and that was it, but we have over 6 feet in some places. I believe we had around 4 1/2 feet of snow downtown. It was crazy. That was something one will never forget.
