Earliest You Can Buy or Renew Fishing License For Next Year?
IIRC, the current one is good through end of March? Anyways, I want to make some changes on my license, but I don't want to buy a new one now, if it'll only be good through March.

Have to go to a license place and get it redone, will probably cost $10 for the replacement. But I'm guessing.

I don't need a replacement. I still have my current one. I just want to buy another one for the next year.Amx wrote:Have to go to a license place and get it redone, will probably cost $10 for the replacement. But I'm guessing.
Also, the last time I tried to buy it at the shop, they said they couldn't do it because I was one of the lucky ones that was put in the system twice? Don't remember the details of it now. Just remember they said it was some glitch that occurred and they've seen it happen to several people.
I've been renewing mine online without issue.

I think around the beginning of January is when the new tags are available. Not too sure though, I always get my new ones about a week before my current ones expire.
Fishing relaxes me. It's like yoga, except i still get to kill something.

In case anyone else is wondering, this is what WDFW told me today.
"Fishing licenses will be available beginning around November 27th for the 2016 license season that is April 1st 2016 through March 31st 2017."

Just curious, what is the benefit of purchasing a 2016 license in November of 2015?

Perfect time of the year for 'gifting' a fishing license to a loved one....

Yep, that would count as beneficial. Scenario: A Washington resident wants to fish in the Columbia river for Salmon in 2015. But did not purchase the permit nessessary when the 2015 freshwater fishing license was purchased. If that individual purchases that permit, and it is after Nov, 27th, when the 2016 license is available for purchase. If that 2016 license is purchased instead, can they legally fish for salmon in 2015?Onmygame wrote:MotoBoat wrote:FishingFool wrote:In case anyone else is wondering, this is what WDFW told me today.

Probably not, but curious what others think.

I'm pretty certain that a license is valid only for the period it covers - and that for fishing in the current season, that next years license would be no more a legal permit than last years license that expired.
