Powerball Win

Post by racfish » Wed Nov 28, 2012 7:34 am

$500 million buys alot of fishing gear.Maybe a new boat with crew to fish with.A new hunting rifle and some bearers to carry your game.Of course everyone would be your best friend. LOL Id get me my lil 12,000 sq. ft cabin on Utsalady, and one on Possesion.Maybe a smaller 10,000 sq home on Bush or Lagoon point. I'd probably still come to work Just change my hours a lil bit like noon till 2:00pm. Just think. What would you do ?

Id go on a around the world cruise to get away and decide what to buy stress free and by the time I came back the interest would've paid for the cruise and the 24' precision weld boat I would definitely be buying.

I would save my money and purchase something more useful. Heard someone once say that the lottery is another tax for people who are bad at math. :-"

Let’s see..... 500 million..... Save it??? Are you crazy? That's so much you'd really have to work at spending it. I'm sure a comparative amount of frivolous spending would be in order. Sure I'd buy a PWeld, probably not a BIG one. 22-24 feet. I would have a to get a good 35-70 foot Cruiser for fishing the salt, or going to Alaska for a few weeks or heading to Mexico, maybe the Canal and the Caribbean? I'd have to get a little river sled too, like 16 to 19 feet and of course a drift boat. I'd also see a lot of guided trips. So let’s get down to the math, say half of it is gone to tax and buy out so, you invest the rest, I'm sure with that kind of dough you could get someone to give you a 5% return. That works out to a paltry 1.25 mill a year without touching the principal. So the 70 footer is put on hold for a couple years. You could still pick up your dream house, buy the new cars and some boats with a vacation or two and still be sitting fat. 500 hundred mil is a staggering amount! Come on you armchair Republicans, let’s get with a little trickle down and get the economy going!!!

Save it????

I'd pay off my student loans, build a house on the coast, in the desert, in the mountains and in Florida. Nothing too fancy. Get a fleet of boats, a lodge on the OP and train up some guides to work for me. I'd probably get bored if I was on vacation all the time, so I'd keep working. It's a shame to waste good talent.

I'm right with ya Bro!!! Although I've never had any problems entertaining myself and others when there was no work and plenty of scratch. .......on the other hand it would be fun to take a job at a company that was up for sale. See how it is to work as a grunt then pick the players and buy the outfit then try out the fit on the other foot. [biggrin] [razz]

I've had the same ideas before. Actually, if I won, I'd buy out the pea plant I worked for, the bakery, and the plumbing shop. And make some changes to the management :-" That would be fun times. I'm a laid back guy, I wouldn't buy cars, or mansions. Give me a cabin in the woods next to a river and we'd be golden. Of course we'd have to have a townhouse in the city so the wife could buy shoes. I imagine we'd have to buy a room just for the shoes. And another room for the zoo. We'd end up with a lot of pets. I'd probably want a tiger and a monkey. Not a face ripping monkey, one of the nicer ones. And a panda. I'd get a panda. And a bacon farm.

Yeah, right with ya. A girl can't have too many shoes. When the kids moved out She moved into empty closets and now she's working on the one in my office........ The only person I know with more cloths is her mom. As the kids go away, the number of pets increases.

Here I am at my desk at work thinking to myself there go the waterfront homes. There goes new gear and crab rings. Back to the grind and back to manual labor. I can still dream... It now starts at 40 million. Thats just as good.

Invest it into a high yeild account. House on the Northfork stilly, House in forks. Buy a bigger sled. Finally open the guide service ive been dreaming about for years. Then when the wife says something about me going fishing everyday, "babe its work related, heres a new car." dream dream dream right?
