fishing reports feature

Post by Amx » Sun Apr 23, 2017 4:39 pm

Before when I read a fishing report, the 'read' feature changed color after clicking on it and reading the report. I used that to get down the list to where I had read the reports and start reading the new reports that hadn't changed color. Now the 'details' feature doesn't change color. Can that be done to indicate which reports have been read, and which haven't?

Yes. I figured this would be one of the first missing "features". It's not so much that we took that away, as that is 100% a feature of your browser, not the website, but the structure of the link to the reports changed, which causes the browsers confusion.

I'll see what can be done to remedy it. As with everything that pops up over the next week or so, it'll take time.

Also my old shortcut to the 'new reports' didn't work, it did that '404 couldn't find' thingie. So I did the 'make a new shortcut on the desktop' thing, so no problem, just thought I'd mention it. I guess I'd better go check my other short cuts.

Ok, all my other shortcuts work. :-)

Pretty much every link to the website to anything we've ever had is broken, and that's really a byproduct of redesigning. Old links to the report page like "LatestReports.aspx" are linking to an old technology that we're not using anymore. I can see in the logs that we already have HUNDREDS of these links hitting the site, and everyone will have to create new shortcuts.

Your link colors are now distinctly different after visiting them.

Now the word 'details' is darker than the ones that I haven't read. Thanks.

Is there now, or will there be the feature 'new comments' to the reports? I don't see it.

In reference to the changing color links, there used to be a little orange flag on new posts on threads in the forums that I am no longer seeing as well. This helped with the longer forum discussions to quickly find where you left off last time you were in the thread.

I noticed that, however the old forums had an orange flag on the individual new posts within a thread, so when you got to those threads that were several pages long, you can quickly find the responses that you haven't read yet. I don't see anything marking the individual posts/replies as new. It's a minor inconvenience though, and should in no means be a priority. I see a little icon to the left of the post number that could possibly be used for this. I don't see anything tied to it, or any hyperlinks, so I'm not really sure what that icon is supposed to be used for.
