Top add baner now making noise?!?!

Post by Gringo Pescador » Mon Jan 20, 2014 1:03 pm

Holy Crap! I'm sneaking into WaLakes to take a peek from my desk (as per my normal routine) and all of a sudden music comes blasting out of the speakers! So much for running under the radar #-o

Frantically closed the page, plugged headphones in and got back in. Looks like there is an ad on the top banner called "Game of Kings" that has sound. It also has a little speaker icon with an "X" next to it, but guess what - it does nothing when you click on it, so no way to mute. ](*,)

Mike / Aaron - kill it please?

They must have paid the most $$ cause it seems they are on nearly every WaLakes Page. Clicking the speaker does nothing for me [razz] I have to mute my computer

I haven't seen it either. But someone mentioned ad blocker so I added it to my computer and there haven't been any ads.
Look for Wannafish A Lure on FaceBook
He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.

Reminds me of a thing that went around work about 10 years ago.

At the time I was in a cube-farm with easily 50-60 desks in an open floor separated by those low fabric cubical walls. Someone sent an email with a link to EVERYBODY. You click the link and a high volume voice yells "HEY! I'M WATCHING PORN OVER HERE!!" [scared]

It echoed over and over from different desks all over the floor for the next 15 minutes. Then randomly here and there for the next couple days as those that had the day off or whatever eventually opened it [laugh]

That really sucks... Today is the first day it has played on my PC and it kept playing over and over.

I'm getting it most of the time now, If someone could let me know how to get a screen shot, I'd post it up.
It has been coming from the CARBONTV header.

when the image shows, click on your keyboard the ctrl, alt, and print screen keys.

then open 'paint'

when in 'paint';

click on 'edit' and then paste

the image will show up

then 'save' to whatever file

then post here. :-)

I just got it, but no sound, it required me to click on the speaker to activate the sound. Which yes, was loud.

I agree, I never click on ads either. The problem with this one is that it pushes sounds whether I click on it or not and does not mute.

Whats weird is it doesn't do it on my home computer, just my work one. Might me an Explorer/Firefox difference?
