Seriously! You need to take that new slimmer you for a few days of F&R&F&R (fishing & resting & fishing & relaxing). You've earned it!!!:cheers:kevinb wrote:10 years....you are long overdue for some vacation time:cheers:racfish wrote:I do window treatments for commercial ,residential, and for the marine world.I do window coverings for some of the biggest privately owned yachts in the world.Ialso do homes (mansions) all over the world. work 5 days a week ,get weekends off and I havent taken a vacation in over ten years other then kidney surgery.I do work for the Navy ,Army ,Coast guard, NOAA. I fish not because I regard fishing as being terribly important, but because I suspect that so many of the other concerns of men are equally unimportant, and not nearly so much fun. ~ John Volker

RE:Occupation
What's your MOS? I am not active duty, just a "nasty girl"...at least not until August, anyways...I am a 19D. Started off a dismount, went to sniper school before I deployed about five years ago, became a bradley gunner for a while, and now that were deploying again I'm now a truck commander. Been in for 6 years...and just started my second enlistment.kickerfish wrote:Active Duty Army at Fort Lewis. I have been in 17 years and 3 months. Retire in 33 months and then I have to find a real job and work with civilians!!!!! At least then I can call in sick once and go fishing:cheers:

I was an enlisted medic for 8 years, then got smart when I realized they don't pay enlisted diddly and went to OCS, now I am a Major (Logistics).

Yeah...I figured that out a while ago. Being NG, I don't rely on it like active duty does, however a bit more fat in the wallet would be a nice side effect.kickerfish wrote:I was an enlisted medic for 8 years, then got smart when I realized they don't pay enlisted diddly and went to OCS, now I am a Major (Logistics).
I don't care too much about the money, the job is relatively exciting and the people I meet are a good bunch.
Thanks for your service!

First of all I'd just like to thank all the vetrans and active duty guys on here. You are true heroes, and thanks for helpling make this the best country in the world.
As many of you might know by reading my pitiful post in the off topic.....I'm a realtor. Been one for 2 yrs now, I was in home mortgage before that. So I'm around the computer quite a bit as well, I keep WL.com in one of my browsers, I like to read the reports, and forum discussions when I'm eating my lunch or just taking a littel mental break from the day. Being a realtor means I have my own hours, but it's a sticky situation; I could easily spend to much time fishing and not make enough money....so I need to discipline myself to one trip a week......that's tough on a nice day since we don't get too many.
I also work part time at Nordstrom selling men's shoes! I have four boys and my wife doesn't work....well, outside the home anyways.........
Anyone looking to buy or sell? Do you need to refinance your home? Contact me! rgroves@johnlscott.com

I'm on night shift for 2 to 4 months of the year, usually in the summer time. Hours vary, I believe this year it'll be 11:00 to 7:00 AM. We should fish on Washington after work one of these nights, I'm moving to New Castle next week.tnj8222 wrote:nope i work the grave yard shift as well. 12-8:30 AM its a sucky shift lol but it pays more and i get lots of internet time lol. i also get to fish alot during the days which makes it pretty good.spadam98 wrote:Well sounds like im the only graveyard (11pm to 7 am) worker so far. i work for a conference company called LINK. a crappy job that pays decent, and my break is over haha time to get back to work.
RE:Occupation
I've been a welder/ metal fabricator for 14 years. I work full time building aluminum boats and run my own metal fabrication shop at home in the evenings and weekends. Kinda ironic, my fishing boat is made of wood.
RE:Occupation
I've been a Plumber for 40 years now, & worked mostly new construction in California & Oregon.
Its been a very interesting job, I've worked on everything from houses to hospitals, oil refinery to
high rise, even spent a year working on a Nuke Power Plant in Cal.
Looking forward to RETIREMENT this year & only working part time now sooooo I get in plenty of Fishing!
