Member Names
In the beginning, when this site was started, it seemed like a great idea for all anglers posting reports have some secret name. I was "Bass Tracker." I am thinking now that it would be a good idea to encourage members, (but not require) to use their real names.
Re: Member Names
I can't say I've got a strong opinion either way, but would you mind sharing your reasoning behind this? I did choose my name so that I could be easily identified on the water, as did many others with names related to their boats etc.

Re: Member Names
With all the identity theft problems our society faces this makes no sense to me not to mention I don't want my real name posted all over the internet and that's what will happen.
People with ill will in their hearts are everywhere. I'll keep the pseudonym thank you.

Re: Member Names
I wouldn't use my real name as a user name anywhere online tbh. I'm not trying to hide in anonymity or anything, just don't wanna make it easier than it already is to get my info stolen.
Fishing relaxes me. It's like yoga, except i still get to kill something.

Re: Member Names
I'd use my real name if I could figure out how to do it--I chose a dorky name when I joined! Bob, can you provide instructions? I've seen this request on other forums--the belief it is leads to fewer abusive posts if people are using their real names. I don't think we have that issue on this site.

Re: Member Names
Absolutely! There is no way I'd use my real name anywhere on the internet. Just plain dangerous.
