This just in! Lucious lands Multi National Pike!

Post by AJ's Dad » Mon Jun 11, 2012 8:33 am

In a recent trip of a lifetime to Last Mountain Lake in Saskatchewan, Washington Lakes member, Buddy Hartman, effectionatly known as Lucious, has landed what will forever be known as a "Multi-National" Northern Pike.
The multi national designation was determined when an American fisherman, landed a Canadian fish, while using a cheap Chinese Lure.
That's right folks, he was highly successfull while fishing with the soft plastic "Mini D" made by Tackle Industries. I can only imagine how much money he saved buying the Mini D instead of the more expensive Bulldawgs.
Way to go you thrifty little bugger! I'm going to bust mine out on the next trip to Cda Lake. I might even throw them at the Muskies in Newman this week.
Happy fishing to all!!!

I was expecting to read that they had hooked a fish while in Canadian waters and ended up landing it in US waters or vice versa.

Yes sir the Mini-D or as I called it all trip the "Lizard Tongue" was dynamite the last couple of days of the trip. Landed me 13 pike with the very last one of the trip for me being a 40.5 that she engulfed!!! Super glue kept her in the game until the very last fish almost broke her in half. Super glue also saved my finger too!!! Pictures of what's left of the lure and some of the pike it caught!!!

video is 52 minutes long so a lot of editing will be in order...plus there is a lot of cursing. That will come in a little while.

Sounds good. I can't wait to see it. Looks like there was plenty to swear about. A few F bombs wont offend me, ask AJ's Dad.

In regards to the "Multi-National" Northern Pike that Mr. Prince of Pike AKA "BOATSIDE" caught, I can speak from being there live and in color. The Little D better known as Lizard Tail was more than impressive and absolutely insane with regards to catching not just numbers of Pike but also GIANT PIKE!!! I don't remember seeing a Northern less than 36 inches hit this lure and I can tell you that it caught double digit numbers of Northerns and out fished the guide who knows this lake better than anyone every time it was used. Let's put it this way, the guide was asking us what we were doing and how we were doing it because his success didn't even come near the success we were having. I will tell you that I honestly believe had this lured been used earlier in the week our total numbers would have possibly been high 100's maybe even 200 +. I also think we would have caught many more trophy Pike as well. But that is what next year is for and that is why we went this year to learn what works and doesn't. I can certainly tell you I will do everything I can to get back next year and if anyone is onboard for going please keep in touch. Trust me when I tell you, that this lake is one of the PREMIER Northern Pike and Walleye Fisheries anywhere in North America and it is a Drive To Destination! I have fished many bodies of water between Wisconsin, Minnesota, Florida as well as Colorado and Washington and Last Mountain Lake is in a league of its own! Calling any and all passionate Pike Anglers, this trip is not one to pass up! Plus you can't beat a little time away from reality either. [thumbsup]
