Outcome of 2nd Colorado Pike Tournament
Well, the tournament turned out to be more successful than the first. 10 teams participated in the 2nd event with a whopping 35 pike being caught between all the teams. Of the 35 pike 28 pike were greater than 26" and with 21 of the pike were 30" or greater. The top fish were 40, 40, 38, 38, 37.5, 37.5, 37, and 37. One team caught both 40" fish on the last day of the tournament. Nate reported that my team had taken 3rd place, but that was only after the 1st day as we caught 3 pike the first day at 37.5, 33, and 28. The 2nd day was very interesting for my team as it was daylight savings and we forgot to reset the boat clock and showed up 1 hr late to weigh-in and per the rules, there is a 20 point deduction for every minute late. Had 98.5 points after the first day, but ended up with -1101.5 points after the 2nd day so we officially secured last place... It didn't really matter as we did not catch anything the 2nd day and would have been bumped out of 3rd because of other teams performing well the last day. All fish over 26 inches were released back into the water to grow bigger. All, in all everybody had a great time with everybody anxious for another tournament. We are well on our way!!!
Oh just FYI fly fisherman won the tournament with a total of 9 fish!!

Yes sir!!! Nice shirt by the way. I have not had a chance to respond to your email.
Re: Outcome of 2nd Colorado Pike Tournament
Nice job Buddy! Another really successful tournament! Is the 37.5 your PB?
Re: Outcome of 2nd Colorado Pike Tournament
Actually my fishing partner caught the 37.5. Mine was the 33" in the video and that is my PB in the lower 48. Almost swallowed the entire 7" swimbait if it weren't for the leader. My PB overall is 41" but it was skinny and only like 17lbs....nice fish but not a trophy in my book as it was not 20lbs.Mark K wrote:Nice job Buddy! Another really successful tournament! Re: Outcome of 2nd Colorado Pike Tournament
I like it Buddy, Yes Sir!!! Can't wait for Canada here in a little over 2 months, hopefully we will both be measuring multiple Trophy Northern Pike!!! Let's just say all the conditions are speculated to be absolutely ideal for this trip from all the research I have done. Biggest Plus is we will be in Pike Heaven for over a week!!! The only thing better would be Pike, Musky and Walley Heaven at the same time in the exact same area!!! But I will take Pike Heaven for now with a few Walleye in the mix, get ready because its going to be dynamite from what I have been reading and researching!
