License system down?

Hey all, went today to finally get a new license, and was turned away from 2 different stores because of problems with the licensing system. Seems they did an update last night (?) and that, combined with all the halibut fisherman also waiting until the last minute seems to have crashed/crippled the system. Just wondering if anyone has heard anything as to when they expect it to be back up and running or if anyone has even heard of this yet at all?

Thats the main thing that got me to start ordering mine on-line. I hate waiting in lines and its a thousand times worse when you get there and they are messed up and no license.

It usually only takes two or three days to get your license in the mail - plus you get a temporary to use immediately if you dont need a catch record card.

I always get my online. No stores or bad people to deal with. Fast and easy. I get the kids this way as well.

I didn't know you could get them online. I was sold a Columbia river endorsement this year because they asked if I was going to fish for salmon and steelhead. They pulled the same bs on my buddy and the dipsticks would not give him catch record card without buying the endorsement. he went away without the record card because he fishes the sky-Snohomish system. Its tiring dealing with these people that have no idea what they are doing

They always ask me if I'm gonna be fishing the columbia or any of its tributaries before they add that on.

I have had good luck with receiving only the licenses and endorsements for what I am fishing or hunting for. But, am not a fan of dealer fee's for each and every added license or endorsement as the season progresses from fishing to hunting. When licenses are purchased online, does that eliminate the dealer fee?

At the bottom of the page, below the long list of fishing license fees I like that it reads: "There is no additional cost to you for purchasing your license online".

Also noted in the fees for this year vs last. Purchasing a day discovery pass is up from $10 to $11, and a season pass up from $30 to $33.

Actually had the system crash while my wife was getting hers, could not print out license, when I tried somewhere else, they said she already has one, ended up getting a 1 day pass, again, should have done this earlier, not the day before,..going to see if WDFW would reimburse me for my 1 day pass that I had to acquire,...

WDFW charges the same as a store. This was not the case a few years ago there was no charge but then the stores figured this out and cried about it. I have never had any issues and always get them in the mail within two working days. Key is make sure you plan ahead if you need tags or punch cards. This way you only deal with yourself and get and pay for what you want only.
