I saw a lamprey first time ever in actual fishing situation. It apparently had been tossed there probably by a fellow angler. Do to it nature of being a predatory parasite like nature. Not all species are this way but certain types are. I did notice there skin is more like a catfish. Mouth of this species didnt seem to have as strong a sucion cup of a mouth more like a normal fish but that lip could flip back wide didnt want to even see if it did.Or not I been told stories of this fish when I was young. My family is from the mid south louisiana and mississippi so to me. All I have heard is bad stories about this blood sucker lol. What do yall think. I was in a river in washington in king county. Where I saw this dead lampy. Duwish to be exact.I believe they trail the salmon in and drop off hear and there. Natual way of things. I think most of the lampys in wa are unheard of.They are low impact but strange and curious fish and could threaten a salmon population but most likely no. They have been there for years they are actually prehistoric built. But if left to get out of had cause many problems. Its like if we treat the water good then no explosion of lampys. the worse we treat the water more lampys
