Whidbey Island camping

I was wondering if anyone knows whether or not there are alternatives to the three state parks for camping on Whidbey? I was planning a trip up there but the state parks are all I can find for camping, and they are all booked full the weekend I can make the trip. Can I just drive up and find a place off a dirt road somewhere or do you have to have an established sight?

Try Rhododendron County Park South of Coupeville.
