Old Olympic Mooching Rod

My Grandma gave me an old Olympic 2080m Mooching Rod, 8', 2 pieces. Does anyone know what line this rod can handle? Would I be able to use it for saltwater pier fishing? Any info would be great!

usually they're for trolling for salmon with a mooching reel (it looks like a big fly reel), so if you can get a reel to cast with it, whatever you use for salmon should be as heavy as you go. i like 15 lb myself, but, to each there own.
