not sure if someone already posted this but any stuff that didn't come off with WD/40, white vinegar works wonders for taking the corrosion off everything.

poor some in a bowl or cup and get that old toothbrush out and scrub away, for the heavier stuff let the part soak in the vinegar, those penn rells are easy to take apart.

Also I would use a brillo pad or steel wool instead of sandpaper. It is a less abrasive and works well to remove surface level corrosion.

Especially if they are roughed up, they just look used and weathered that way. You can only imagine what kinds of fish those rods might have tangled with in the past. :-({|=
