The run off is unreal this year. My pond is overflowing. Water is over the bankline about a foot deep causing sketchy entrance and exits. The ice is still 16" though

Oh ok, I ended up not going because my friend had to go into work both days. I would've thought by now the shorelines would've been ice free though because we had been to that area the week after we fished it and looked like it had more weak spots on it and decided to go to clear lake in naches that day. Guess it hadn't warmed up enough in that area the past couple weeks.

How was Clear Lake in terms of ice? And the fishing of course :-)

The ice was thick, it was about 12 inches but none of it was good ice. I was surprised it was as bad as it was, we didn't venture off rather than the little bay that we started at. Ended up not catching anything. I'm sure if we were able to try some other spots we could've found them but we weren't going to push our luck. It was like 12 inches of weak ice and slush, none of it was hard to auger through. That was about 3 weeks ago I think. It might've been 4.

I would venture to guess the ice is good with the current temps. But a word of caution there are numerous springs in the lake. There could be some soft or skinny ice.

If you are hoping for the sunfish they never attain much size.

Much like the perch in Silver.

We headed out to Eloika late this morning just to take a look at the ice conditions. I'm happy to report the ice is still nice and solid, I checked the public launch and Jerry's and saw more people on the ice than I have seen all month. The ice is still 12-14" thick, the bottom 6-8" of ice is clear, solid and very hard, the top 6-8" is clear and hard as well with a few small trapped air bubbles mixed in.

Yea I figured that much. But the warmouth remind me of little rock bass. Not alot of size. But fight like they're 4x their size. With the weather. I may just go to bear With the kiddos. They've been itching to get out again

If you like Rock and Warmouth bass, Kapowsin is a great little lake for Rock bass, with no ice. Bobber rigs for kids. Just remember to park where you can see the rig. Lots of break-ins spoil an otherwise mini-paradise for bass.

Open year round. Shore fishing is somewhat limited, but small boats with electric motors or oars are find. Lots of stumps, trees, pads.

Guys, I'm torn. I want to get Lakers on deer. But liberty still has 7" of ice on it. And it's not every year there's still ice on liberty come March 1st. Such a hard decision

Newman may have bigger Crappie but I have yet to find them through the ice. Liberty had walleye put in it like 8 yrs ago but very few have been caught and I doubt there are or have been a reproductive population.
