Insight in Through Wire Construction - Rapala Style

Post by islandbass » Fri Mar 14, 2008 12:48 am

I came across these images a while back and thought it would be good to share them with those of you who are interested in learning more (via pictures) about the through-wire construction of plugs.

I wish to credit Rapala for the genius of their design. They happen to be my favorite company for hardbaits.

I use the Rapala Jointed Rainbow Trout 4" minnow for my cutthroat many times. It's an amazing lure...they can't resist with a little smelly jelly on the thing...

I got a ton Rapalas, just bought a magnum(for the muskies)its a little more weight than I had thought, but like the kastmaster,it covers the water well.

That is cool. It's neat to actually see it like that without having to tear a bait apart. And yes, I have cut, torn, broke, many lures apart just to see how they are designed. Rapala has an ingenious system. Thanks for sharing the guts of those Rapalas islandbass.

thanks a lot for the pics!

i have to admit i thought they just glued a curved peice of wire into the bait were ever they had a hook/eye

that design is for sure way cooler than i thought.

islandbass great stuff man. I always wanted to see the inside of a Rapala. I mostly use Rapalas, fire crawdad jointed shad raps and F9 silver original floaters are my favorite ones to use.
