My guess is that none of the rockfish that you caught are Canary, Yelloweye or Bocaccio and these are the fish that they are trying to protect. They used to be fairly abundant, along with True Cod, Tom Cod and Pollock, now you only find them off the coast or in the San Juans.

Although those species mainly reside in open ocean waters deeper than 200 feet......

Damn poachers!! I also know of a couple of spots in areas 13 and 11,giant bocossio,state record black rockfish, and true cod, still lots of fish but their hiding in my secret spots.If people want rockfish i'd go to westport!bigger limits and bigger fish.They should add more artificial reefs through out the puget sound.
