Herring for shore?

Post by jojo » Wed Jun 10, 2009 6:23 pm

Hi all,

I've been to Alki twice and have tried my luck at catch herring. I guess it is hit and miss from what I have learned. One day it was two or three with every cast and the next day... nothing. I am open at trying other areas but don't know where. Is there a timeline for them or do they just move around. Wish there was a technique of tracking them.

Thanks!
JoJo

From land its hit or miss depends if they are in your area. On a boat they are pretty easy to get as we just locate a bait ball and drop the line in. Takes no time to get enough live bait for the day.
