favorite jigs and rigs for lings?
what do you guys like to use? in the past seasons ive mostly used 4oz jigheads with 6inch+ grubs, i prefer the gulp saltwater grubs and sometimes the big generic grubs sold in sportco.
Re: favorite jigs and rigs for lings?
Perfect jig head weight i use is 3/4oz. With 6" dark purple curly tail grub. Or the white and brown gulp grubs. Banjo minnows are great too. Eels also work wonders.

I have always done really well with these: http://www.kodiakcustom.com/index.php?o ... &Itemid=68" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I also have had good luck with 4 oz jigheads with white curly tail jigs

always done well with herring. I've used those cheapo white jigs from sportco and caught some, got a big skate once on them too. I've caught a couple on plugs like Tomic and Ace Hi while trolling for kings too. several people I know use flounder and greenling.

Answered my own question, March 16 is opener :-)
Re: favorite jigs and rigs for lings?
I almost exclusively fish plastics. The cheaper the better. Occasionally I will fish live bait if the situation is called for, mostly sand dabs or greenling.
I run predominantly 6 Oz and 4 Oz heads depending upon the current, and depth. Keeping in mind that all of my fishing is done from a boat, and primarily in Area 7, San Juans.
My all time favorite baits are the rootbeer/brown KGM swimbaits in 5.5", they carry them at Holiday, otherwise its custom order. http://www.kgmcustombaits.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
