I'm curious if anyone has been tuna fishing this year? Can you only catch albacore offshore in WA. ? Or is it possible or unheard of to get a blue fin or yellow tail?:-"

You are more likely to see Bluefin tuna in the NW before Yellowtail (not a tuna). You are probably mixing up the Yellow fin tuna with the Pacific Yellowtail.

Hello
Albie's can be caught off Wa. and Or. coast at certain times of the year, but Yellowfin, Bluefin and Bigeye Tuna are normally caught down south in the San Diego fishing zones. They will venture a little north from there but it's not to common. I fish for these brutes out of H & M landing in San Diego. Charter boats in Washington mainly target albie's, but there are some private boats that will hunt for them to. Its harder for the private boats to reach them because of the distance they have to travel to reach the schools. Some times the schools will get within 20 miles of the beaches, but it doesn't happen often. When it does, you have to be ready to drop everything and go. Hope you get to fish them, because you will love it.
Tom
