Elger, and Baby Island too, has always been one of my favs. Maybe it will turn on a little more this winter. Hasn't been too hot the last few years. My fishing buddy lives in Mt. Vernon.

The fishchecker report shows a few Blackmouth being taken up there.

Went out in the evening 11/09 to drop pots and fished the racetrack for 1 hour. Had a take that didn't stick, definitely a salmon, but we will never know what flavor. Really good bait showing in the area.

Fished Double Bluff last Sunday 11/10 and lost a dandy around tide change. Fished a while longer and had 3 clipped fish to the boat, no huge ones, but a bend in the rod. Bait everywhere!

Keep in mind MA9 closes Nov. 30, so get while the getting is good. The bar has plenty of fish, it has been spotty, but some are doing very well with 2-4 legal fish for some boats. The fish checker on 11/9 had appx 20 CK for 40 boats. Those are very promising odds for this winter fishery.

Good luck!

So far almost every keeper bonked since the 1st has been loaded with 3 or 4 herring all freshly munched on. We are catching them but you just got to really work for them. Seems like there is so much bait around right now that it is hard to get the attention from fish. But with the size of fish we seeing already there is a good chance of some big fish this winter :salut:

Too much bait in the water is a good thing! Means the fish have stuff to eat and we can start to support a larger population of fish going back and forth. Awesome for all the fish that go out to sea.
