Dogfish around the pier?
Is anyone catching them lately on the piers? I'm around area 7 Bellingham and feeling like eating them. Used to catch dozens every night in the summer but not sure about fall mornings.

I used to catch them at the Point Defiance fishing pier at night, and sure that they are still around the area. They are thicker in the summer but in the area threw out the sound.

Hi Guys, what bites/lures do you use for dog fishes? Do they like soft plastics?
Re: Dogfish around the pier?
use herring chunks. if there's any dogfish around they'll pretty much always hit a piece of herring.Eugene wrote:Hi Guys, what bites/lures do you use for dog fishes? Do they like soft plastics?
Fishing relaxes me. It's like yoga, except i still get to kill something.

Usually don't find them in the sound the colder months of the year. Not sure if they leave or just don't hit. I'm a boater and fishing deeper then you can from a pier if it matters.
