They're going to be all over the Sound as we move into August. Go find a beach and start casting and you've got pretty good odds of hooking one.

fish the incoming tides if you can.. they seem to move more and in bigger numbers with the tides in my experience..
it will start heating up here soon.. i may hit a beach up north this afternoon for a try..

Best luck is 1 hour before to 1 hour after high tide.
If the tides line up with sunrise or sunset - even better
and if there happens to be a school in front of you lookout!
I fish not because I regard fishing as being terribly important, but because I suspect that so many of the other concerns of men are equally unimportant, and not nearly so much fun. ~ John Volker

I'm being sent to Portland for work tomorrow. Blah! Might just launch the boat and hit browns bay for crab and cast out for a few hours tomorrow. No luck from shore tonight. Was complimented on my far casts though by another angler, lol

Hooked 5, lost 5 at the beach today. One was strong enough to break my 20lb line!

Nothing since last time out, one flounder and no hits or bites from the salmon. Will be out today to keep trying!

I've been out every day at tide change. Nothing to show for it. Have seen an occasional jumper but the pinks aren't in yet in any numbers. Quadfather got everyone a little excited too early

I'll keep trying! The lake I fish is overcome by swimmers and I look for sea glass.

We're you the guy I met with the steelhead pole?

Going out today for tide change right now
