At least we need not worry about polar bears in Puget Sound!
I'm sure some of you may already have seen this video, but for those that have not, check it out.
Polar Bear Steals Salmon
I've seen seals do this, heard of orcas doing this, but holy smokes where did that bear come from?

Wow, that's nuts! A polar bear?... And where did it come from?
When times get tough, just keep on fishin'!!!

It's not a polar bear, it's a sea lion, seen it on youtube before.

Come on guys, thats a Sea Lion...
I'm no expert but the range of Salmon in the Pacific doesn't really extend far enough north to be in Polar Bear country....
On another note, that crap happens all the time in the sound these days with the increased aggression of the Sea lions....

Look for Wannafish A Lure on FaceBook
He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.

i think its common sense that its a sea lion because polar bears dont dive underwater and wait too steal your fish
See you out there =]

Come on now, isn't it more fun to say a polar bear stole my salmon?
Sea lions come in as many colors as humans do, that one just happened to be of Scandinavian descent like the ones in this pic.

I just liked the polar bear idea... Gave it a new mystique. I'm tired of the sea lions gettin' all the credit.

This is one of the problems with Youtube, mass emails and blogs. Many times the facts are skewed to make it more interesting. I could take a video of a Tiger Muskie cruising the shoreline in Newman Lake and title the clip "Huge Tiger Muskie Found In Manito Park Pond" and someone would believe it without any question.

Stellar sea lion most likely, I would have dropped my rod forsure. He was hiding under the boat, they are able to hold thier breath up to 16 minutes.
Cast first, worry later.
