Whats your must have patterns?

Post by ruthven78 » Mon Aug 11, 2008 4:38 am

What patterns have been your old favorites, your standbys, the ones you always have in your fly box? If you can include photos that would be great. here are my favorites.........I'll try to get some photos up.

Carey Special (pheasant rump, and lemon wood duck flank)
Woolly Buggers (black & green)
Woolly Worms (black, brown, and olive all with red butts)
Montana Stonefly
Black Leech (black hackle, black chenile, w/red butt)

I hope to start tying up more flies when I get all moved into my new place.

There is a small list of my go to flys. This time of the year I perfer to use bead heads and a full sink line.So I can get deep.I'm still working on my dry flying.I get to excited when I see the take and set to early.

I wouldn't consider them my must have patterns...however, with my limited experience, these have been the most successful for me. In no particular order...

Pheasant Tail Nymph
Adams
Woolly Bugger (maroon/black, olive/black)
Bunny Leech (olive)
BH Copper John
Chad
